The Assistant Program Director assists the Director in the development, administration, and implementation of quality services and programs to effectively meet student needs, as well as the objectives of the Full-Time MBA Program and Mays Business School. Serves as a knowledgeable resource to students, administration, and faculty by proactively providing information and responding to issues regarding student success inside and outside the classroom. What you need to know
Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000 ( Commensurate to selected hire’s experience).

Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Six years of related experience in academic advising, student affairs, and/or program management or related field.
Required Licenses and Certifications:
- Must have a Class “C” vehicle operator’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong attention to detail and strong customer service orientation.
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Microsoft Office knowledge and experience including but not limited to Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Excellent written communication, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Excellent leadership and supervisory skills with excellent public speaking skills.
Other Requirements and Factors:
Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
Ability to lift and/or move moderate objects.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree.
Two or more years of student advising and program management experience.
Four years’ experience working in a higher education setting.
Knowledge and experience working with COMPASS, Aggie Buy, Concur, and MailChimp.
Essential Duties/Tasks:
Student Services and Academic Advising - Assists in developing, enhancing, and delivering assigned program objectives for the Full-Time MBA Program. Proactively advises current MBA students in areas relevant to curriculum and electives. Anticipates and coaches students on a regular basis regarding deadlines for registration, degree plans, and other programs and activities. Works in close collaboration with departments within Mays Business School and across the University to meet student needs. Manages and updates advising documents and curriculum records. Selects and creates cohorts and diverse teams for each term based on established criteria. Promotes study abroad/exchange programs to students and ensures academic requirements are met. Evaluates the overall academic progress of current students and identifies those in academic or personal distress. Initiates and manages the communication, documentation, and monitoring process for students placed on academic probation. Works with other offices across campus as needed to provide support to students, such as Disability Resources, Student Assistance Services, and the Veteran and Resource Support Center. Provides support for student organizations associated with the Full-Time MBA program such as MBA Association, Partner and Family Cohort, and other clubs and organizations. Assists with team development, individual development, and conflict management by meeting with teams and individuals as needed.
Project Management and Event Planning - Serves as project manager of the annual MBA Core (Orientation). Responsible for developing, overseeing, and implementing the entire incoming student orientation. Project manager for other student-centered activities in the MBA program throughout the year such as various enrichment activities including additional workshops, training, speakers, and the annual graduation ceremony and celebration.
Administration - Proposes structure, plans, coordinates, and maintains the academic common calendar for 1st and 2nd-year students. Coordinates course schedules, exam schedules, and room schedules. Creatively manages multiple and competing program needs on the academic common calendar. Maintains web version of the common academic calendar for student use. Manages institutional relationships for the MBA Program with the Office of the Registrar, the Graduate and Professional School, the International Student Services & Scholars Office, and the Association of Former Students. Utilizes assessments to ensure that the assigned program meets or exceeds standards. Assists in evaluating performance reports and analyzing program statistics for reporting, tracking progress, and making adjustments to programs. Responsible for the online faculty evaluation process for all MBA courses. Assists in the development, oversight, and maintenance of program budgets. Determines case competition teams and coordinates student participation and faculty support for teams. Assists with coordination and compliance for teaching assistants used by faculty teaching in the program. Oversees electronic communication with prospective, current, and former students. In collaboration with a MarComm representative, creates, updates, and monitors website content. Assists in coordinating various advisory board meetings and communications. Ability to run local errands such as picking up awards, catering that cannot be delivered, picking up promotional items, and expediently purchasing various items for the program on a regular basis.
Supervision - Hires, trains, and supervises program staff including one full-time Program Coordinator. Provides oversight of additional program staff including but not limited to student workers and/or graduate students for the MBA Program Office. May perform other duties as assigned.
