We are now seeking an Accounting Team Lead to join our German Finance department. The role can be based in Germany, or any other Nortal European office location (in Poland, Estonia, Lithuania, Ukraine, Serbia, and Finland). Remote / hybrid work is also an option, but ability to travel to Berlin, Germany is needed.
Your responsibilities include:
Leading a team (currently 4 people) and supporting them in all accounting matters
Keeping an eye on all accounting processes and ensuring the correctness of the procedures
Ensuring, in cooperation with our tax consultancy and the internal compliance team, that the legal framework conditions according to the German Commercial Code (HGB), IFRS and tax law are complied with
Being responsible for the monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements according to HGB and IFRS
Accompanying the annual audit process
Communicating with the banks
Being the first point of contact for external tax consultancy
Monitoring the cash flow and taking care of the reporting
Acting as a contact person for other business units when it comes to tax or financial issues
Being involved in the development of new processes and guidelines, and the implementation of new IT systems
What helps you to succeed:
Experience as a Team Lead / Senior Accountant in an international environment
A university degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration or a qualification of Financial Accountant or similar
Very good knowledge of German accounting rules according to HGB and German taxation topics
Good knowledge of MS Excel
Fluent German and English, both written and spoken
Ability to work independently but also as part of a team
Understanding of a fluctuating workload
A high level of responsibility, detail orientation and analytical thinking
An independent and performance-oriented personality
It would be a plus, if you have:
Knowledge of IFRS accounting standards
Experience with DATEV and MS Dynamics 365
Team leadership experience
