Summary:

The EMS Community Paramedic provides primary care and/or advanced life support, including medical evaluation, treatment and stabilization of the critically ill and injured with the goal of reducing morbidity.

Responsibilities:

The Paramedic supports existing health services; provides integrated health services in partnership with other health professionals; extends access to health services delivery in underserved and general populations, including primary care, public health, disease management, prevention and wellness, mental health, and dental health; and performs other duties as required.

Other information:

Education, Licensure, Experience, and Other Requirements:

· High school graduate or GED.

· Current certification as a Paramedic with the NC Office of Emergency Medical Services.

· 2 years of Paramedic experience is required.

· Current BCLS certification.

· ACLS certification is required within 1 year of hire and must be kept current.

· CPI certification is required within 1 year of hire and must be kept current.

· ASLS certification is required within 1 year of hire and must be kept current.

· NIHSS certification.
