The C-17 Avionics Communication/Display/Controller team is currently looking for an Experienced or Senior Design and Analysis Engineer to join their team in Oklahoma City, OK or San Antonio, TX. This organization supports Boeing’s C-17 Program, the world's premier military airlift capability. You will be the team's focal at the Oklahoma City or San Antonio sites.
We are looking for an experienced or senior Communications and RF Design Engineer. This position will include support for the entire product lifecycle; including requirements analysis, systems design, lab design/specification, integration testing, flight test, technical sub-contractor management, field support and customer interactions. Will be responsible for requirement definition, updating and verification using DOORS. Must possess knowledge of modern military communication systems (e.g. SINCGARS, MUOS, IW, Link-16, Mode 5). Experience with MIL-STD-1553B, ARINC-429 and TCP/IP Ethernet data bus systems is needed. Will be a key focal for teammates in Long Beach, support lab activities and tests. Must be very strong with lab equipment operation, test design, lab set up and data recoding/capture.
Position Responsibilities:
Leads work with customers to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements
Leads and coordinates work to analyze and translate requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications
Leads work to test and validate to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements
Oversees the team that monitors supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements
Solves problems concerning and provides other support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle
Researches technology advances for potential application to company business needs
This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering
3+ years of experience with Communication and RF Systems
Experience working with commercial and/or military aircraft communications systems including technical subcontract management
Experience in all stages of development including generating technical documentation, system design and development, integration of systems development, structured analysis and design methodologies, integration and test/verification
Experience with digital/RF communications hardware and lab equipment
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Senior - Level 4: 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Military aircraft program experience
MIL-STD-1553B architecture and knowledge
DOORS experience
Experience with antenna design, troubleshooting and co-site analysis
Experience with Agile development methodologies
Strong leadership, team building and mentoring skills
Typical Education & Experience:
Experienced - Level 3:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Senior - Level 4:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range (Experienced - Level 3): $89,250 – $129,950
Summary pay range (Senior - Level 4): $111,50 – $162,150
