Come join our production team where you will work in a hands-on collaborative environment with the ability to see your work come together in an end product every day.General SummaryMachine Operator II is responsible for the set up and operation of a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Ensures final product meets customer expectations. Works under immediate supervision; relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.Examples: Tube Laser, Tube Mill. Brake Press, Bundle Saw, Punch Press, et cetera.Principal Duties and Responsibilities:This position is for a tube mill operator:Secures and maintains material and supplies required on the operation according to production sheets.Completes work area set up.Operates and feeds the machine in a safe and efficient manner, and according to established procedures.Continually watches the machine to ensure quality.Stacks completed products in accordance with established procedures, and if required, may cover, label and band components/finish product.Operates hand tools to complete assembly process.Ensures work area is safe, clean and organized, and that equipment is safe to operate.Completes pre-shift/startup equipment inspection checklist and reports any problems or concerns.Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.Maintains production records as required.Checks materials and finished products to ensure compliance with standards.Performs duties consistent with established safety and quality procedures, rules, and standards.May perform preventive maintenance as specified.Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.Performs other duties as assigned.Preferred Qualifications:Experience running a tube mill and other heavy machinery.Job SpecificationsKnowledgeHigh school diploma/GED preferred but not required.Minimum of 6 months of experience in manufacturing and/or assembling is required.Working knowledge of basic math.Must be at least 18 years of age.Skills and abilitiesAbility to work in a safe mannerAbility to recognize quality of materialDemonstrates ability to perform LOTODemonstrates ability to follow specific instructions and directionsDemonstrate ability to use and operate hand toolsDemonstrate ability to stack material properlyAbility to pay attention to surroundingsAbility to identify safety issues in their work area, and notice equipment malfunctionsAbility to understand basic verbal and written instructions in English.Ability to read a tape measure and read blue prints or plansAbility to troubleshoot the machine or equipment in use.Ability to understand efficiencies and productivity measuresDemonstrate eye-hand coordinationAbility to work under immediate supervisionAbility to pass a drug testAbility to work hours mandated by managementConductSafety consciousTeam player and goal orientedOpen to change and positive attitudeCommitted to plant and company goals.Participates in Safety and CI programs.Punctual and reliableLooks for ways to improve productivity and department results.Working ConditionsThe following physical activity is required (percentage of time during a typical workday may vary)ActivityBending at WaistStooping, Kneeling, Crouching, CrawlingClimbing/BalancingLifting/Carrying Less than 10 lbs.10-25 lbs.Over 25 lbs.Pushing / PullingTwistingUsing forceSittingStandingWalkingTalking: Expressing or...
