We have an exciting opportunity available for a dynamic Civil Practice Area Leader in our growing Madison, WI office.

Civil Practice Area Leader responsibilities may include:

  • Leadership of and responsibility for projects, pursuits, and staff within the Civil discipline of our Madison office.

  • Project/Team oversight including setting priorities and developing objectives, team financial management, and project staffing/work-sharing with other offices.

  • The ability to serve as a technical resource for a multi-disciplined team.

  • Business development planning, including developing strategic business plans, marketing activities, client development, presentations, and proposal development.

  • Client management, including abilities to negotiate contracts and develop client engagement activities.

  • Professional society involvement.

    We are considering Civil Practice Area Leader candidates who possess the following minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.

  • Minimum of 10 years of design experience in site development, grading, drainage, storm water management, and permitting in Wisconsin. Candidates with additional experience are encouraged to apply.

  • PE license in WI.

  • Experience in business development and project development processes, including marketing activities, client development, project tracking and proposal development.

  • Good communication skills and a proven track record in successfully interacting with clients and internal team members.

  • Experience in leading and mentoring staff for career development and advancement.

  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil3D, hydrology, and hydraulic software.
