Job Title: Assistant Director of Global Services Department: Office of Global Engagement College/Division: General University Job Details: The Office of Global Engagement at Mercer University is searching for an Assistant Director of Global Services on the Macon, Georgia campus. Responsibilities:Reporting to the AVP of Global Engagement, the Assistant Director of Global Services will work as an extension of the Office of Global Engagement to provide continuous student services to undergraduate students on the residential undergraduate campus. The successful candidate will collaborate extensively with academic advising units, residence life, and student affairs to assist in the success and retention of international students throughout their academic programs. The position is also responsible for coordinating initial orientation activities for international students as well as ongoing programming to assist in their acculturation, retention, and academic success as well as serving as a counselor and advocate for international students on campus.Qualifications:A bachelor\'s degree from an accredited college/university is required and one year of prior experience working with international students. Candidates must be proficient with Microsoft Office. Candidates must have a valid driver\'s license and be insurable by the university\'s carrier.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:* Proven ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing a must.* Basic understanding of US immigration law, visa categories, and procedures that international students must follow to maintain legal presence in the US.* Knowledge of common regulations and best practices governing residential campuses, including FERPA, the Cleary Act, as well as best practices in international education and student affairs.* Multicultural awareness is a must.
