The Role: In the role of Clinical Manager with Fresenius Medical Care, the responsibilities include managing clinical operations to ensure the delivery of superior patient care. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

CLINIC OPERATIONS:

- Oversee clinic operations, including cost, workflow, staffing, and maintaining quality standards.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and development plans for direct reports.
- Engage with internal Human Resources, Quality, and Technical Services departments.
- Oversee or function as the Home Therapies Program Manager for the facility’s Home Therapies Program.
- Uphold accuracy of medical and operations records and comply with data collection and auditing tasks.
- Accountable for annual Standing Order Review and Internal Classification of Disease (ICD) coding completion.
- Oversee clinic financials including productive usage of supplies or equipment and regular profit and loss review.
- Responsible for all mandatory network reporting and conducting on-site state or federal surveys.

PATIENT CARE:

- Coordinate all aspects of patient care from admission to discharge alongside the relevant staff.
- Ensure patient education on quality measures, transplant options, modality awareness, and access care.
- Act as a resource for patient and family queries and concerns.
- Ensure timely completion of patient care assessments and care plans.
- Manage patient schedules to maintain facility efficiency and formulate action plans for missed treatments.
- Plan, coordinate, and validate patient's eligibility for treatment.
- Report alterations in patient status pertaining to clinical, insurance, or travel, and transportation issues.

STAFF:

- Participate in selection and hiring of new team members and ensure completion of new hire orientation and mandatory training.
- Ensure all patient care personnel complete appropriate training courses and maintain current certifications.
- Support all clinical staff members for professional growth.
- Maintain updated knowledge regarding company benefits, policies, procedures, and processes.
- Complete employee evaluations and establish yearly goals.
- Document disciplinary actions and consult with the clinic Director of Operations and Human Resources when required.
- Handle staff scheduling and payroll.

PHYSICIANS:

- Manage the physician application process for privileges and ensure compliance with Fresenius Medical Care Medical Staff By-Laws.
- Maintain strong physician relations and facilitate regular and effective communication.
- Participate in the interdisciplinary team, Governing Body, for policy formation.

EDUCATION AND REQUIRED CREDENTIALS:

- Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Graduate degree from an accredited School of Nursing (RN).
- Current state licensure (as necessary).

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

- Must have:
  - Over 6 years of business operations experience in a healthcare facility.
  - At least 12 months experience in clinical nursing.
  - Minimum 6 months chronic or acute dialysis nursing experience.
  - Pass the Ishihara Color Blind Test.
- Nice to have:
  - Over 3 years supervisory or project/program management experience.
  - Medical/surgical or ICU/CCU experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

- Regular tasks include desk work, personal computer tasks, and interactions with patients, facility staff, and physicians.
- There may be a requirement to travel between assigned facilities and various community locations, or to regional, business unit, and corporate meetings.
- The work environment reflects the characteristics of a healthcare facility, with controlled air temperature and moderate noise levels.
- May encounter potential exposure to infectious and contagious diseases/materials.

- The job involves direct patient care that frequently requires heavy lifting, patient movement, and assisting with ambulation.
