Join Our Team as a Quality Assurance (QA) Technician at Metso!

We are seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) Technician to supports the quality assurance efforts for Minerals Equipment, Global Supply Chain and Quality Assurance (QA) teams at Metso. You will be responsible for reviewing inspections and working with suppliers to ensure quality measures are met.

This position is mainly located in York, PA and you will report to the Quality Assurance & Control Manager.

This role may involve up to 10% travel both domestically and internationally, possibly, to supplier or vendor sites. Valid drivers license and passport may be required for some locations.

What you'll do:
  • Witness non-destructive testing (UT, MT, PT, VT) at supplier's facilities.
  • Review visual inspection of welds to AWS D1.1, ASME, EN / ISO codes, or to customer specifications.
  • Perform or oversee supplier's completion of in-process and final dimensional inspections and make acceptance or rejection decisions with Metso Engineering assistance, if needed.
  • Understand and be able to provide the required specifications and codes to suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with Quality Plans (ITP's) and drawings.
  • Process & create NCRs as well as collaborate with Engineering to resolve supplier non-conformance and create acceptable rework procedures.
  • Assist in audits of new suppliers and Metso systems to ensure compliance with quality standards and procedures.
  • Review and approve material certifications, dimension records, non-destructive testing reports and all other test reports.
  • Maintain the electronic Quality Assurance documentation files including creation of MDR.
  • During travel, provide trip and audit reports as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the appropriate Metso personnel to review current needs that should be addressed with suppliers prior to inspection visits.
  • Evaluate the capability and accuracy of manufacturing, testing and measurement equipment at suppliers' facilities.
  • Other duties, as assigned.


Who you are:
  • An associate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Quality Engineering, or QA equivalent experience (shop and/or inspection).
  • Blueprint reading and geometric tolerance experience.
  • Fluent English is required.
  • Required to obtain working knowledge in accordance with SNT-TC-1A NDT in required methods (MT, VT, PT and UT).
  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification is a plus.
  • SAP, Jaggaer, or ISO 9001 experience preferred.
