The Program Officer will work on strengthening resiliency and dispute resolution skills and building critical information consumption skills to combat malign influence campaigns that may exploit IDPs. The Program Officer will work closely with local project partners, trainers, NGO actors, and other technical experts. attends and monitors training activities around Ukraine.

Your Background & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in social science, law, or similar discipline
  • Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience in dialogue building, social cohesion and Ukrainian legislation
  • Experience working with international donor-funded projects.
  • Strong command of spoken and written English and Ukrainian.
  • Prior experience working with IDPs is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to be creative and generate new ideas.
  • Strong attention to detail and responsibility
  • Must demonstrate valid proof of unrestricted work authorization in Ukraine.

Your Daily Task

  • Support project activities under Objective 2 that are focused on fostering local IDP leadership, psychosocial support, and social cohesion.
  • Coordinate the work of trainers, project representatives, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation of program activities.
  • Supply technical assistance in relevant areas of expertise and provide technical advising to program grantees.
  • Track and analyze work-plan activity progress toward project objectives.
  • Provide required inputs to project reporting.
  • Work closely with local partners on joint activities that aim to solve underlying tension, discrimination, or other obstacles to social cohesion.
  • Make input into public opinion campaign combating negative stereotypes towards IDPs, building social cohesion, creating equality and non-discrimination conditions in the community and highlighting the importance of communities working together.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, relevant laws, and regulations governing communications, ensuring the program’s compliance and proposing innovative ideas for enhancement.
  • Mentor and guide grantees’ teams to ensure they follow CSO and IREX policies and guidelines.
  • Process relevant payments for vendors, while ensuring financial accuracy.
  • Work closely with IREX monitoring and evaluation staff to track and analyze project indicator data, ensuring effective monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of program activities.
  • Support coordination of training events, including material design and printing, ensuring that objectives and targets are met on time and within budget.
  • Develop scopes of work for STTAs linked to conflict resolution and expert support to governmental initiatives.
  • Identify STTAs in coordination with project leadership.
  • Interact regularly with opinion leaders, government officials, trainers, civil society and media groups, and other program stakeholders.
  • Organize joint Ideation workshops to identify local needs and develop solutions for joint community projects that contribute to social cohesion at the local level.
  • Work with the team to host a national event for program beneficiaries and stakeholders, including media and government officials, to showcase activities and find common ground for collective future action.
  • Drive innovation of resources created under the VIA 2.0 program.
  • Travel throughout Ukraine to attend program events and meetings (if possible and according to IREX policy and the public health situation in Ukraine).
  • Stay up to date with monitoring the situation in Ukraine and how it affects staff and communities to ensure the safety of all participants.
  • Other duties as assigned.
