The Information Technology (IT) Project Manager will be responsible for the planning, execution, and delivery of technology projects within IREX. Their expertise will be instrumental in ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and in alignment with IREX’s strategic goals.

The IT Project Manager will play a crucial role in coordinating cross-functional teams, managing project resources, and mitigating risks to deliver successful outcomes. This position requires a blend of project management expertise, technical knowledge, and strong leadership and communications skills to drive innovation and operational excellence in our technology initiatives.

Your Background & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in IT project management, with a focus on leading complex technical projects, particularly in nonprofit or international development contexts.
  • Proven experience managing ERP implementation projects, including integration with other enterprise systems.
  • Proven experience with project management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall.
  • Familiarity with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, or similar software.
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Analytical skills for leveraging project management tools and techniques to drive project efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Ability to implement and standardize project management tools, templates, and processes to bring a systematic approach to project delivery.
  • Cross-functional teamwork and communication skills, capable of translating technical challenges into understandable terms for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Expertise in adopting emerging technologies and digital platforms to optimize project processes and foster collaboration.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with cultural awareness, fostering effective global team collaboration.
  • Proactive in identifying and addressing challenges, with a commitment to driving positive change.
  • Ongoing commitment to professional development and staying current with industry trends.
  • Must demonstrate valid proof of unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.

Your Daily Tasks

  • Lead cross-functional teams to achieve technology project goals and deliverables, ensuring alignment with IREX’s strategic objectives.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and scope to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Play a key role in the implementation and integration of the ERP system, ensuring it aligns with organizational needs and contributes to operational efficiency.
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for IREX; provide technical input speak to external groups, provide thought leadership necessary for positioning, and effectively articulate the IREX Strategy and Mission.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, vendors, and partners, making project progress information readily accessible in SharePoint and addressing concerns about upcoming changes.
  • Present to executive leaders on project goals, status, and expectations persuasively and in an evidence-based manner.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to the projects, ensuring potential issues are addressed promptly.
  • Gather, analyze, and report IT metrics and key performance indicators to monitor project success and inform decision-making.
  • Coordinate the development and implementation of project documentation and deliverables, ensuring all materials are comprehensive and up to date.
  • Implement and manage change management processes, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption to project goals and organizational operations.
  • Conduct and disseminate post-project evaluations and lessons learned to improve future project performance.
  • Define and disseminate IT project management SOPs, monitoring, and reporting templates to standardize processes and ensure consistency.
  • Facilitate the creation and maintenance of project documentation and knowledge bases to support project team members and stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including team members, department heads, clients, and vendors.
  • Engage with stakeholders to understand their needs, expectations, and concerns, ensuring alignment with project goals and addressing issues promptly.
  • Lead and coordinate project teams, including internal staff and external vendors or consultants.
  • Foster a collaborative and productive team environment, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Delegate relevant work and provide clear and measurable guidance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

This fulfilling position offers an anticipated salary range of approximately $87,200 - $98,000.

This position is eligible for Telework. The eligible employee is a regular, full-time DC-based staff who works from a worksite outside the DC office for one or more days a week
