Position Summary:

Midnight Sun AUS is looking to hire a Carpenter to perform general carpentry duties that includes constructing, installing and repairing structures and fixtures of drywall, wood, plywood, and wallboard, using carpenter's hand tools and power tools, and conforming to local building codes.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• This position will read construction plans and or drawings.
• Measuring and lay out ceiling grids.
• Measuring and laying drywall track/framing.
• Cutting and hanging drywall.
• Installing doors, frames and hardware.
• Maintain professionalism with coworkers and customers.
• Complete all required company, contract and safety trainings.
• Maintain a safe working environment and Must have an Uncompromising Commitment to Safety!
• Follow and give oral and written instructions based on company, client and/or site requirements.
• Operate a wide variety of construction tools and equipment safely.
• Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma required.
• Must have minimum five (5) years' experience in construction at reading construction plans and/or drawings, measuring and laying out ceiling grid, measuring and laying drywall track/framing, cutting and hanging drywall, installing doors, frames and hardware.
• Must have effective oral and written communication skills.
• Must work well in a team environment.
• The ability to pass and maintain a government background check and site access

Certifications/Licenses/Other

• OSHA certification is a plus.
• Valid driver's license with a safe driving record and ability to successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Report check. CDL preferred.

Work Environment:

• Commercial office building that consists of offices, conference rooms, mechanical rooms, etc.

Physical Demands:

• Frequently lifting and moving materials and tools weighing up to 50 lbs. without assistance and over 50 lbs. with assistance.
• Frequently bend, stoop, stand reach and walk.
• Ability to climb ladders.
