Location: Washington, D.C.

THE POSITION

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (“COO”), the FP&A Analyst will be responsible for a wide range of tasks and responsibilities including but not limited to gathering and analyzing financial and market data, investment modeling, financial reporting, engaging with 3rd party stakeholders, and risk-opportunity assessments within a captive portfolio of multi-family, largely affordable, assets.

What You Can Expect to Do

Financial Analysis:

Gather and analyze financial data to help the COO, and other senior leaders, make informed decisions about budgeting, spending, and investments.

Market Research:

Provide research support utilizing online, internal, and external resources. Data aggregation and analysis will be required. Stay current on industry trends and maintain market awareness in targeted markets through direct research and review of third-party research.

Investor Marketing:

Assist in preparing investment presentations for senior leadership, investors, government agencies and various 3rd parties.

Transaction Execution:

Assist in due diligence, coordination of 3rd party vendors, interfacing with lenders, brokers, and government agencies, preparation of closing statements etc.

What You Should Have

  • Bachelor’s Degree – Finance, Accounting, Economics or Real Estate Concentration is a plus
  • Strong Excel modeling and quantitative skills
  • Proven experience with multi-family real estate underwriting, preferably in affordable housing
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience in financial analysis – previous employment at a principal real estate, real estate development, real estate investment or commercial banking firm preferred
  • Ability to take ownership and commitment to follow through
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and handle multiple tasks under pressure
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, presentation and analytical skills
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • High Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required
