Maintenance Technician

Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician III is responsible for performing complex maintenance and repair tasks on electrical and mechanical equipment within a manufacturing facility. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Diagnostic Testing: Conduct thorough diagnostic testing on various types of equipment to identify and isolate malfunctions.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Dismantle, adjust, repair, and reassemble equipment according to blueprints, manuals, and industry standards.
  • Fabrication and Welding: Fabricate parts and perform welding tasks as needed to support maintenance and repair operations.
  • Troubleshooting: Collaborate with production teams to identify and resolve equipment performance issues.
  • Safety and Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Team Support: Provide backup support to Lead Maintenance Technicians, Level A and B Technicians, and other Level C Technicians.
  • Cross-Training: Serve as a backup for other Level C Technicians and General Tech positions.

Working Conditions

The Maintenance Technician III will work in a manufacturing environment, which may include exposure to hot or cold temperatures, loud noise, moisture, and chemicals. The role requires the ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds and perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, reaching, climbing, and stooping. The use of safety equipment, such as eye protection, hearing protection, coveralls, and hairnets, is mandatory.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent trade knowledge from a formal registered training program.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, maintenance manuals, and sketches.
  • Proficiency in basic math and handbook formulas.
  • Skill in using a variety of measuring instruments.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Advanced knowledge in either electrical or mechanical fields, including welding skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Commitment to safety and quality standards.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends.
