Overview

As the strategic planning and communications senior project manager, you’ll deliver expert service to our clients, consulting with cities and agencies as a strategic advisor, helping them plan, design, and implement a variety of strategic planning, public involvement, and communications projects. You’ll be actively involved in business development, helping to win new business and manage existing client relationships. The strategic planning and communications senior project manager reports to the strategic planning and communications technical director.

Salary Range: $156,000-181,000


Responsibilities
  • Develop and grow relationships to expand our client base in the Puget Sound region through a commitment to quality and service.
  • Participate in identifying and winning new business opportunities by working with clients, teaming partners, and internal delivery teams.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams in planning, design, and implementation of public involvement for all sizes of water and transportation projects, including activities such as preparing outreach plans and messaging, providing engagement data analysis and reporting, and facilitating public events and committees.
  • Partner with public agencies to design community engagement programs that build awareness and support for public infrastructure—water, wastewater, stormwater, and transportation.
  • Mentor and guide mid- to junior-level consultants to deliver high-quality work.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in communications, environmental planning, marketing, political science, or other degree related to public outreach or infrastructure.
  • Minimum fifteen years of experience managing communication efforts for cities and utilities in relation to water and transportation infrastructure.
  • This office job primarily operates in a professional office environment and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and copy machines. May occasionally be exposed to noise.
  • While performing the duties of this job, physical demands of the employee may include constant sitting, talking, hearing, repetitive motions and occasional standing, moving, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, and coordination. This job will rarely require lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling over to 35 lbs.
