Neurodiagnostic Technologist Senior - Imaging Neurophys EEG

Summary:

With minimum supervision performs EEG's, Nerve Conduction Studies, EMG's, and related exams within the department. The EEG tech is also responsible for the physician billing for the department. Assist physicians with preliminary reports and during interpretation. Assist in other areas of the department, when available, in a friendly and helpful manner.

The CHRISTUS Children’s Hospital, established in 1959, was the first children’s hospital in South-Central Texas. The hospital (in partnership with Baylor College of Medicine) is the only academic children’s hospital in San Antonio. Our highly specialized services meet the unique medical needs of children, from Pediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care to Children’s Emergency Services, the latest treatments for deformities of the spine including titanium rib implants and halo traction, a Heart Center, a specialized asthma program, a highly regarded Cancer and Blood Disorders Center, and growing maternal services to include consultation, delivery, and maternal fetal medicine.

Responsibilities:

• Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Under the supervision of the lab supervisor, performs EEG's evoked potential studies in the lab and at the bedside of critically ill patients in ICU.
• Under supervision, performs video/EEG monitoring, ambulatory monitoring, and less complicated intraoperative monitoring.

Requirements:

A. Education/Skills

• High School Diploma required

B. Experience

• 3 – 5 years of experience preferred

C. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

• BLS required
