Texas Biomed is searching for an Administrative Assistant I to join the Applied Science & Innovation team. The position will provide support for day-to-day administrative duties relative to MCCR team.



The Role:

  • Input, maintain, and retrieve data from various record keeping systems, databases, spreadsheets, etc.
  • Coordinate preparations for various meetings, seminars, events and/or functions.
  • Assemble, inventory and track study related materials and records
  • Perform quality control activities in support of team projects
  • Maintain office supplies and complete purchase requisitions.
  • Compose/type correspondence and documents (e.g., proposals, grant/contract applications, memoranda, agendas, minutes, policies, presentations, procedures, etc.), transcribe as needed, proofread final product for accuracy/errors.
  • Format documents and tables according to MCCR requirements
  • Open/distribute mail, answer/direct calls and take messages as needed.
  • Receive/route paperwork, supplies, equipment and other materials for interoffice deliveries as needed.
  • Make travel/hotel arrangements, prepare itineraries and expense reports.
  • Establish, maintain and retire various files as required.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • May participate in various committees, ad hoc working groups, team onboarding activities, or specialized training sessions.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with MCCR team
  • May greets visitors and ensure that they receive the best in customer care


Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Requires a high school diploma or GED, Associate's Degree preferred
  • Requires at least 1 year job specific experience, 3 years' experience preferred
  • Must have well-developed organizational skills
  • Must work well in a team setting and have excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage several projects and tasks simultaneously
  • Computer knowledge, to include Microsoft Office experience required
