Job Summary
Develop and execute CIMD-A Total Quality Management program initiatives. Collaborate with all functions of the business, our global CIMD-A manufacturing facilities, along with our Supply, and Customer base in driving quality and process improvement initiatives. Candidate must possess strong Six-Sigma and Lean enterprise tools in supporting our CIMC Strategies and Quality Policy. Lead APQP initiatives in supporting our Product Development Programs underway. Will work closely with our customer base in resolving quality issues establishing root-cause analysis and implementing corrective action plans. This position is responsible in driving our 3Q6S tool-sets across all our functional areas through operational visits and employee training.

Job Description
  • Contribute to the overall business unit operations by developing and implementing improved quality standards and procedures at all locations.
  • Direct the implementation of Total Quality Management (TQM) policies and procedures throughout the business units.
  • Direct and manage programs with broad-based product and process knowledge to ensure implementation of improved quality standards in all business unit locations.
  • Support the division Six Sigma process to include Black and Green Belt development, project implementation and cultural change.
  • Create and administer quality training programs across the enterprise (Quality Systems; Six-Sigma; root-cause analysis, etc).
  • Perform quality audits of suppliers, ensuring all suppliers are in conformance with CIMD-A standards.
  • Create and foster service-oriented relationship with all customers, ensuring business units are in compliance with customers' needs.
  • Coordinate specification / testing review activities with customers and business unit engineering.
  • Ensure CIMD-A follows ISO 9000 Certification at all locations and support internal audit programs to assure continuous compliance to standards.
  • Serve as a resource to manufacturing sites in resolving quality issues. Drive (APQP) Advanced Product Quality Planning process programs and insure conformance to it as it relates to our NPD programs, job transfers, outsourcing, and product vendor changes on Motors as well as component parts.
  • Support CAR (Corrective Action Request) process insuring plant and business unit compliance.
  • Develop and track CIMD-A quality metrics and drive actions plans to reduce our overall COPQ (cost of poor quality).
  • Support International quality needs for CIMD-A on Motors, component parts, suppliers, and manufacturing facilities.
  • Support our Product Service organization to insure we meet our warranty reduction goals.
  • Lead the Divisional (QSMR) Quality System Management Reviews and insure follow up on action items.


Additional Job Details

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in an applied science or engineering field. Master's in Technology or Business desirable

Experience:

Minimum of 5-years within a quality role utilizing Six-Sigma tools in solving manufacturing and customer problems. Prior experience required with obtaining ISO 9000 (or similar quality system) certification. Candidate must possess a solid project management background having a proven track record of driving projects from concept through completion.

Skills:

Possess the ability to analyze and interpret data utilizing Six-Sigma tools and methodologies. Thorough understanding of SPC processes along with Minitab statistical analysis software or equivalent. Public Speaking abilities required in representing IMS on customer visits, presentations, and group quality training programs which will be initiated through this position.

Desired Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Green Belt certified (Black Belt certified preferred)
