Maintenance Mechanic

Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases, currently has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Mechanic to help maintain equipment used to manufacture membrane separators and systems that create more sustainable energy sources at our Air Products Membranes Solutions facility in St. Louis, Missouri.

Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all company safety and BSP requirements.
  • Install piping, tubing, and related devices.
  • Perform mechanical maintenance on a variety of building and process equipment.
  • Perform building maintenance with plumbing, piping, etc.
  • Maintain and operate water treatment equipment.
  • Operate and maintain steam and heating boilers.
  • Maintain compressed air equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Develop procedures for preventive maintenance tasks when applicable.
  • Occasionally assist with contractor management on site.
  • Some HVAC experience and maintenance activities a plus.
  • Assist other maintenance technicians with maintenance tasks.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and accredited trade school diploma/ certificate are required.
  • 2-year technical degree in Mechanical, Industrial trade preferred. Relative experience will be given in lieu of formal education. 5 years minimum of industrial maintenance experience. Applicable military training will be considered as equivalent to industrial experience.
  • Strong mechanical and pipefitting skills.
  • Experience operating and maintaining steam boilers, heating equipment and compressors.
  • Ability to read and work from blueprints.
  • Ability to follow safe work practices and standard operation procedures.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to lift to 50 pounds and climb ladders.
