Description:

The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for tasks related to safety and environmental hazards in the workplace. This position will work closely with the Director of EHS to implement companywide initiatives pertaining to EHS compliance and sustainability.


· Develop company-wide safety programs/procedures, related EHS communications, and educational information

· Prepare, coordinate, and deliver EHS training as required by regulations and site need

· Coordinate both internal and external (e.g. regulatory agency) EHS inspections, document as needed, and ensure deficiencies are minimized and corrected

· Support corporate wide sustainability initiatives, including data collection and research of various sustainability topics that impact the business

· Provide guidance and direction on EHS programs at the Employee / Supervisor level to ensure a common and effective approach

· Assist with accident / incident investigation and implementing corrective actions

· Monitor compliance with safety procedures

· Ensure safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed

· Maintain documentation (training records, logs, etc.) associated with permits and regulatory requirements

· Practice safe working techniques and re-enforce the safety policies, guidelines, and procedures as established by the company

· Serve as Chair or member on safety committees/councils

· Support company growth and expansion:

o Air permitting

o Sustainability/Recycling/Waste Minimization activities

o Regulatory Issues

o Safety equipment

· Monitor industry regulatory issues

· Participate in professional development and training

· Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements:

· Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field preferred.

· 3-5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment leading environmental and safety compliance.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize workload

· Working knowledge of federal and state regulations including, but not limited to, OSHA, EPA and DOT regulations

· Safety Certification(s) (e.g. ASP, OHST, STS, etc.) a plus
