Wurth Revcar, a division of the Wurth Industry Group, is seeking a Quality Manager with great communication and leadership skills for our Roanoke, VA HQ. Qualified candidate will be extremely organized, possess great attention to detail, and have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Experience in management is required. A strong sense of urgency and the ability to creatively resolve problems is also required.

Position Summary

The Quality Manager is responsible for the oversight of inspectors of both military grade products and industrial (commercial) grade products, while specifically ensuring all inspectors follow set standards to meet customer requirements and expectations in a timely manner - includes training, leading, and process improvement.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead and Manage: Oversee the priorities and work assignments of our Military and Commercial quality inspection departments, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality hardware and software to our valued customers.
  • Support Peak Periods: Step in to assist with order processing during high-volume periods, ensuring smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide Expert Guidance: Offer support to inspectors, helping them resolve any complex issues and maintain high standards of quality.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Evaluate current work practices and collaborate with Corporate Quality to develop and implement improved processes.
  • Customer Interaction: Address and resolve customer inquiries regarding product specifications, ensuring clear communication about product conformity or nonconformity.
  • Collaborate Across Departments: Work closely with sales to clarify specification applications, correct documentation or process errors, and discuss any quality issues.
  • Track and Analyze: Monitor reports to identify any products that have not yet shipped, ensuring timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate Collaboration: Partner with Measurement Systems Manager to manage quality gauge collection and processing for scheduled calibrations.
  • Resource Management: Collaborate on the procurement of new devices for failed calibrations or newly identified needs within the quality departments.
  • Audit Support: Provide support before, during, and after customer on-site audits to ensure compliance and excellence.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Work with Corporate Quality to address any nonconformances, championing root cause analysis to prevent future issues.
  • All other duties as assigned

Education/Experience Requirements
  • Quality experience, which must include management experience (Five years of management required)
  • Experience using gauges, micrometers, calipers, or other inspection tools preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in business strongly preferred
  • Strong leadership skills - experience improving processes and leading a team
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written)
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Proficient computer/Microsoft skills - including ERP software
  • Able to work in face-paced environment
