Financial Consultant - Financial Management Systems

How You'll Help Transform Healthcare:

To serve as a financial liaison between leadership, operations, and other centralized functions. Provides customer service and technical support for Carilion's financial management systems. Develops a detailed knowledge of the underlying data to become the subject matter expert on content, current and potential future uses of data. Must maintain a high degree of technical proficiency in computer software related to databases, spreadsheets, and other applications. Serves as a technical expert. Possess strong understanding of healthcare finance as it relates to projects.

Interact effectively with administration and with all levels of corporate and hospital management, as well as with departmental work team. Uses technical knowledge and creativity to analyze, prepare and distribute financial information. Possesses strong content knowledge of healthcare financial and statistical data. Provides support and assistance in . Must be able to communicate technical information and issues to a diverse group of people. Must have excellent written, reporting and verbal communications skills. Recognize the scope of issues from questions and discrepancies. Effective time management skills are necessary.

Duties & Responsibilities may include but not limited:

• Designs and develops management level data from multiple sources

• Independently analyzes, optimizes, and maintains financial reporting data sources

• Serves as a change agent for initiatives that improve financial processes and analyses.

• Independently manages assigned projects and meets deadlines

• Uses highly functioning analytical skills to recommend solutions.

• Collaborates, trains, and coaches others to improve performance.

• Proactively identifies areas of improvement (process or technical) and develops plans for associated changes required..

• Interfaces with clients, vendors, and multiple teams while providing resolution to problem incidents

What We Require:

Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
Experience: Four or more years experience in health care finance, accounting, financial or strategic planning, business information systems experience highly preferred.
Licensure/Certifications/Registration: Professional certification in finance related area preferred.
Other Minimum Qualifications: Advanced knowledge of spreadsheet and database applications and knowledge of financial support systems. Advanced reasoning skills and the proven ability to think independently and intuitively. Knowledge of accounting rules and financial management processes. Demonstrated team building and leadership skills.
