A hospital in California is looking for an experienced Med/Surg Oncology RN for a travel assignment. The right candidate will have 2+ years of experience.
Job Requirements
MUST have 2-3 years in specialty
MUST be team player AND travel experience
2+ years of experience
hold an active BLS and CA license
Schedule Information
12 hr shifts 6:45-7:15
Weekend Requirement-4 weekend shifts in 4 week schedule
Holidays-work into perm staff rotation
Floor specific orientation-1 shift on unit

Unit Medsurg Oncology
# beds-17 beds
Certs-BLS
Ratios-1 to 5 could be 1 to 4 if one of patients is getting chemo
EMR-Cerner
Charge Nurse-clinical supervisor who will not take pt assignment, will fill in as break relief
Nurse Aides-1 nurse aide on for 8 hrs of days
Floating-to tele 1 to 4 ratio, could also float between medsurg floors
Common diagnosis / Types of patients-mostly oncology patients but may have some overflow medsurg
Vents-No
Hospitalist or Intensivist in house hosp -24/7
IV Team-no
RT 24/7-yes
Pharmacy 24/7 yes

Tele-portable tele box as needed, they do have monitor tech, nurses must be able to read and interpret, will have to take dysrhythmia exam
