Your Role

The Claim Shared Support Services team supports business operations by providing reach and analysis of system issues that requirement enhancements due to claims processing issues, mandates, strategic initiatives or creating efficiencies. The Business Analyst, Experienced will report to the Senior Manager. In this role you will provide guidance on processes that impact claims processing through research, detail analysis, determine impacts within the claim’s organization, create the necessary business requirements that support the change. This may entail collaborating with multiple cross-functional teams to ensure the end-to-end process is included in the necessary changes.

Your Work

In this role, you will:

  • Provide analytical support through the analysis and interpretation of data in support of cross-functional business operations
  • Contribute to annual operating plans, capital budgets and forecasts, and build business cases for new business initiatives (cost/benefit analysis)
  • Develop, prepare and analyze reports for management review, and present to various levels of management
  • Define business requirements and provide analysis to increase operational efficiency
  • Analyze actual results against plan and forecast and recommend interventions where appropriate
  • Conduct data analysis, needs assessments, and cost/benefit analysis to align information technology solutions with business initiatives with limited support
  • Support Requirements Elicitation through identifying a desired future state that addresses a business problem utilizing multiple analytic methods such as JAR/JAD, interviewing, brainstorming, chair-siding/observation, problem identification, and gap analysis
  • Support the development or modification of information systems, including analysis of business and user needs, documenting requirements, and revising existing systems
  • Create supporting documentation for all processes
  • Ensure compliance with all processes, policies, and procedures

Your Knowledge and Experience

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Requires at least 3 years of prior relevant experience
  • Claims processing experience, preferably with multiple lines of business knowledge/experience
  • Experience in handling multiple projects and meet deliverables
  • Project management knowledge and understanding
  • Strong communication skills, oral and written
  • Research, root cause analysis and problem-solving

Pay Range:

The pay range for this role is: $ 66,800 to $ 93,400 for California.

Blue Shield salaries are based on a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, location (California, Bay area, or outside California), and current employee salaries for similar roles.
