Overview
  • Transports medical equipment, mail, labs, blood products, and supplies to and from various locations within the OHSU environment. These locations are, but not limited to: nursing units, diagnostic areas, clinics, exam rooms, operating rooms, laboratories, morgue, or offices.
  • Operates elevators for patient and equipment movement. Relieves elevator attendants for breaks.
  • Cleans and disinfects transportation medical equipment: stretchers, wheelchairs, morgue carts, HoverMatts, pillows, and utility transport carts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities
  • High School diploma GED.
  • Excellent communication with public and staff.
  • Strong customer service experience.
  • Must have a positive and pleasant attitude.
  • Ability to prioritize daily tasks to maximize efficiency and patient experience.
  • Ability to multitask and function in stressful situations.
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions in English.
  • Must be completed within 90 days of hire:

    • In-house biohazardous items handling

    • Other compass modules as assigned

  • Compliance with Code of Conduct, Respect in the workplace and Applicable policies, procedures and agreements related to position, department or OHSU as a whole

  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation


Qualifications
  • Healthcare or hospital experience.
  • Experience in safe transporting of specimens, blood products, equipment, and supplies.
