Position Summary
Brief Description of PSU/School/Dept
Trauma Informed Oregon is housed at the Regional Research Institute, part of PSU’s School of Social Work. TIO develops and disseminates information and offers training and consultation related to Trauma Informed Care, workforce wellness, and equity across the state. TIO works in partnership with a diverse group of stakeholders, including state and local policy makers, service providers, communities, individuals with lived experience, and families, to promote and sustain trauma informed policies and practices.
Position Summary
The Training and Curriculum Specialist is a professional staff member in the Trauma Informed Oregon (TIO) program, responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating training programs that integrate trauma-informed practices across sectors.
This position will work with the Trauma Informed Oregon team to successfully complete deliverables outlined in the contract between TIO/PSU and the Oregon Health Authority. Primary duties include developing, disseminating, and updating training and consultation material, delivering training on trauma-informed care, and working closely with the training coordinator position to ensure a high quality experience for all involved with the work.
Minimum Qualifications
  • BA/BS plus at least three years’ experience in a related field, or Masters with at least two years’ experience in a related field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of trauma informed practices.
  • Highly detail oriented
  • Experience training and developing training content using adult learning techniques and principles.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with attention to detail, and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, set boundaries, and meet deadlines.
  • Skills with technology used in adult learning (e.g. video editing).
  • Ability to engage with co-workers and community partners for scheduling, event support, and additional administrative requests.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred.
  • Knowledge or experience with diverse communities/populations; and/or experience applying a diversity, equity, and inclusion lens to work tasks.
  • Experience or ability connecting to others in the field for collaborative work. Ability to listen and develop rapport, and to relate well with community partners through a trauma informed and culturally sustaining lens.
  • Creative, result-oriented, self-starting, willing to learn, and able to manage multiple ongoing projects.
  • Seeks new learning and integrates this into work routines and projects.

Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement
PSU has a structured process for determining starting compensation, taking into account years of related experience, applicable skills, knowledge and abilities, market parity, and internal equity. The starting annual salary range for this position has been set at $54,684 to $61,152; any salary rate above this range would need to be negotiated according to the factors listed above, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR. This is a 12-month benefited position; the benefits package includes 95% premium paid healthcare, retirement plan, and reduced tuition rates for employee, spouse, or dependent at any of the Oregon University System schools.
