Responsibilities

Minimum requirements for all Nurses:

  • BSN Graduates: Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from a program accredited by Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA) 30 days before start date.
  • ADN Graduates: Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program 30 days before the start date.
    • Associate degree Nurses required to enroll in BSN program within 3 years of hire and complete within 5 years of hire
  • Current, unencumbered Oregon State Registered Nurse License
  • BLS and ACLS at time of hire and must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network branch of AHA (upload documentation with online application)
  • BLS and ACLS must not expire during orientation
  • Ability to perform the job duties with or without accommodation

Department Specific Requirements:

  • One (1) year current experience in cardiovascular, neurosciences, medical-surgical adult acute care, intermediate Care, or SNF that cares for these patient populations

Transition to Practice (TTP) Program Individualized Orientation Schedule tailored to applicant's needs:

Our learning program is unique. You will receive a fellowship program tailored to your development needs for this specialty; which could be for 4 weeks and up to six months.

Transition to hired shift may be delayed for a temporary reassignment due to individual development needs and skill mix of the employees on the unit or the hires shift at any given time.


Qualifications
  • Internal applicants: Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited program
  • Cardiovascular intermediate or progressive care/step-down unit
  • Management of ventricular assist devices, vascular sheaths, inotropes and vasoactive medications
  • Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN)
  • Certified Heart Failure Nurse (CHFN)
  • Certified Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse
