Overview

The Practice Facilitator II (PF2) is a key staff member, working under the direction of a project manager or principal investigator to provide project coordination and research support on moderate or multiple small to moderate-sized research, implementation science projects, and technical assistance programs. The PF2 manages expectations, timelines, and deliverables with partner organizations. They build and sustain relationships for a broad range of projects or programs, working on research and implementation science projects, building and fostering relationships with community clinicians and clinics in order to conduct healthcare research. The PF2 develops quality improvement (QI) infrastructure with participating practices and works with community partners to plan projects and identify community priorities. In addition to community engagement, the PF2 assists in planning experimental design, participates in quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis, trains junior staff in QI methods and strategies, and participates in QI curriculum development. The PF2 participates in dissemination efforts, including developing sections of grant proposals, manuscripts and presentations.

Under occasional supervision, the PF2 is able to interpret and apply project protocols and contribute scientifically. They understand practice facilitation and quality improvement concepts and are able to resolve problems of greater scope and complexity, exercises independent judgement and takes action, and seeks advice as necessary. They educate and act as a resource for students and junior staff. Travel around Oregon is required for this position.


Responsibilities
  • Master's Degree in relevant field (such as research, health sciences, public health, social services, or other related fields) AND 1 year of relevant experience OR
  • Equivalent combination of training and experience
  • 1 year of relevant experience with a Master’s Degree

  • Demonstrated expertise in implementation science including:
    • Completion of change management coursework (eg. LEAN or CAP), IHI training modules, and PCPCI online learning module
    • Knowledgeable about practice facilitator handbook
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing to scientific/technical audiences, healthcare personnel, and lay audiences
  • Excellent organization skills

Qualifications
  • 2 or more years experience in practice facilitation or quality improvement
  • 5 or more years in research data collection
  • 1 or more year in a primary care setting
  • Experience in outreach, patient recruitment, or practice recruitment
  • Ability to create or modify spreadsheets, data entry forms, and reports
  • Experience with survey tools
  • Knowledge of quality improvement methods
  • Experience with PCPCH.
  • Experience with REDCap
  • Experience with other research software
  • Participation in Research Coordinator Workshop and completion of a Study Coordinator training series
  • CPHQ, ACRP or SOCRA certification
