  • PEDS FLOAT POOL - Peds Stepdown & Peds Surg & Peds
  • We care for children with multiple health issues including neurosurgical, neurology, respiratory, endocrine, nephrology, orthopedic, general surgical, cardiac, and more. Some of our patients can be total care patients with or without a ventilator, renal patients needing dialysis, neurosurgery patients with externalized ventricular devices, or spinal fusions. PACS (Pediatric Surgical) provides acute level care for Surgical, Cardiology, Endocrine, Gastroenterology, Plastics, Trauma, Ortho, Urology and overflow Medical patients 0-18 years of age.
  • Pediatric Acute Care Medical (PACM) provides Acute Care level care for patients 0-21 years of age, across a large spectrum of services to include; medicine, pulmonology, adolescents, family medicine, and more. Our team approach is family centered and includes daily multidisciplinary rounding, as well as, physician team rounds at the bedside with the family and the nurse. We also partner in care with child life, respiratory therapy, social work, school teachers, pharmacists, and therapy services. Our facility provides private rooms for patients/families, playrooms, family lounge, classroom and an outside courtyard.
    Job Requirements
  • - 1 year experience (no new grads)
  • - AHA BLS, AHA PALS (RQI not accepted)
  • - HARD REQUIREMENT: Vent Experience
  • - Will float to less or like units when needed where qualified
  • - Inpatient Pediatric RN experience
  • - Tracheostomy care
  • - Ventilator Management
  • - dialysis

  • - externalized ventricular device (none of these are initiated at the bedside, but these are the patients we work with).
    Schedule Information
  • - Rolling start dates, only 2 candidates per orientation acceptable
  • - There will be 1 (12hr) orientation day (4 hours on each unit: 10N, 9N, and 9S).
  • - The orientation day will be variable – dependent on units' preceptor availability for that week.
  • - 1 in-patient EPIC class offered every Tuesday. It will be virtual, self-paced, and can be completed at home.
  • **Facility expectation is RN picks up shifts immediately following orientation completion**
    Unit Specific Information
  • - Special Equipment: Ceiling lifts in a couple of our rooms, Hoyer
  • - Patient Age Group: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents
    Additional Details
  • - 48 hours review time – reviewed by the facility for approval
  • Charting system- Epic (strong EPIC needed)
  • Scrub color- Any
  • -Former OHSU employees must be away from any/all OHSU facility for at least six (6) months before they may return
  • - 4+ weeks Credentialing process, orientation requested 2 weeks out!
  • COVID19 Vaccine (Dose 1 & Dose 2 if applicable) - COVID-19 vaccination is strongly recommended. Personnel who are not Fully Vaccinated must comply with the requirements for unvaccinated individuals issued by the facility.If declining declination must be completed
  • Candidates who decline COVID-19 vaccination are required to wear a surgical or procedure mask for all patient encounters.

  • -Release Authorization – this applies for **any new candidates to Aya** Candidate should sign within 24 hours of pipe
