Brief Description of PSU/School/Dept | Transportation and Parking Services is responsible for the management of all university owned parking lots, structures and garages and oversees parking enforcement, parking citation billing and collection, permit distribution, sales and demand management, staffing and management of the parking kiosk booths, and event and guest parking. The department coordinates alternative transportation incentive programs and sells transit instruments to employees, students and the general public. In addition, the department oversees and coordinates the maintenance and modernization of the parking facilities and manages and directs the enforcement of the parking program and its policies. Position Summary | The purpose of this position is to support Transportation & Parking Services’ (TAPS) technical equipment, software, and reporting needs. This includes research and testing of new equipment, building and maintaining relationships with vendors, building and maintaining reports and integrations, and assisting the department’s staff through training and problem solving. This position also assists with general operations of the department and works closely with all TAPS staff. The goal of TAPS is to provide transportation options and associated services to students, faculty, staff and guests of the university. We emphasize service and assistance while maintaining safe, convenient and sustainable commute options for the PSU community. This is a permanent full-time position within an innovative team-oriented environment located in downtown Portland, and includes a comprehensive benefits package with at least 38 days of paid time off each year, 95% employer-funded premium healthcare, 100% employer-funded retirement plans, and 70% off of tuition for the employee, dependent children, and your spouse or domestic partner. This position is represented by SEIU 89. Minimum Qualifications from Classification | This classification requires a basic foundation of knowledge and skills of equipment and systems that would normally be obtained through an associate of arts degree in electronics or industrial technology, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or directly related experience. |

Work Days/Hours | Special Working Conditions This position is located primarily in the Transportation & Parking Services Office at Portland State University. The working schedule is approximately Monday-Friday 8:45am-5:15pm. Some remote work available. |
Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement | The starting salary rate for this position will be between $23.18 and $27.81 per hour. The starting salary will be dependent upon the knowledge, experience, skills and abilities of the chosen candidate, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR. Portland State has an excellent benefits package including 95% employer-paid health insurance premiums (employees and eligible dependents) and significantly reduced tuition rates for employees and eligible dependents at any of the Oregon Public Universities. After completing six full months employees are eligible to the employer-paid pension program in addition to two voluntary retirement programs.
