Position Summary | Reporting to the Associate Vice Provost of Academic Advising, the Health, Science, & the Earth Pathway Advising Director position will serve on the AVP’s leadership team and work collaboratively with colleagues from the Office of Academic Affairs, academic departments in their Pathway and across Pathways, Enrollment Management and Student Affairs, and community colleges in the state of Oregon. Pathway Advising Directors oversee Pathway-specific advising and retention initiatives, serve as the direct supervisor for all professional Academic and Career Advisors in their Pathway, collaborate with the AVP and advisors to delegate duties in their Pathway, provide direct service delivery to students, develop communication plans for faculty, advisors, and students in their Pathway, ensure timely student outreach occurs, and use data analytics for decision-making and reporting in collaboration with the AVP. Pathway Advising Directors serve as the initial point of contact for academic departments housed in their Pathway on issues of undergraduate advising and student success, and they may work on university-wide advising and student success initiatives, as well as with community colleges in the state of Oregon. In addition to these overarching duties and responsibilities, the Health, Science, & the Earth Pathway Advising Director will have expanded responsibilities associated with pre-health programming and development of a “Pre-Health Hub” that will serve students in pre-professional health programs. These responsibilities will include connecting with local programs to encourage recruitment and retention of students pursuing healthcare careers, fostering partnerships in the Portland metro area that benefit pre-health students, and coordinating relevant seminar series, workshops, and courses. |

Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement | Salary is dependent on several factors, and new employees will typically start around the Q1 level to allow for later growth within the salary band. PSU has a structured process for determining starting compensation, taking into account years of related experience, applicable skills, knowledge and abilities, market parity, and internal equity. The starting annual salary for this position will be $59,556 – $73,872, but may be negotiated above this rate dependent upon the factors above, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR.
