Overview

The duties of this position revolve around teaching, research, and clinical activities. The teaching duties of the position involve participating in the education and training of medical and nursing students, house staff, and the regional medical community. A component of the position involves establishing and maintaining scholarly research activity directed toward the improved understanding of the causes, detection, and treatment of diseases. The clinical component of the position involves providing clinical care to patients at the University Hospitals and Clinics, as well as affiliated hospitals and clinics, and engaging in public service through consultative activities in the appointee’s specialty with non-University groups. This position will be primarily practicing at Orenco Station and Hillsboro Medical Center. This position will maintain a broad reconstructive practice focusing on general plastic and reconstructive surgery including - free flap reconstruction for breast, head and neck, trauma, lower extremity reconstruction and wound care.


Responsibilities
  • M.D.; Board Certification in General Surgery; Board Eligibility in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery;
  • Knowledge and Skills: Must have the ability to multi-task and prioritize; ability to be a self-starter and organized; ability to work as a team member and also independently; must possess a positive and enthusiastic attitude; possess excellent communication skills (verbal, written and active listening); and be flexible to work all day as necessary for patient demand Monday through Friday with some weekends during assigned call shifts.
