A large hospital in Arizona is looking for an experienced Cardiac Telemetry nurse for a travel assignment.
The right candidate will have 2 years of experience, hold an active ACLS, BLS and Arizona license.

Pass DYS exam PRIOR to accepting
Complete SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion & central line dressing changes, with the exception of NyICU & ED
Maintain sterile field
Schedule Information
Shifts: 7-7 shifts
Floor specific orientation: 2 shifts
Weekend Requirement: 1 weekend out of 3 weekends
Perm staff does self-scheduling. Travelers will be scheduled where they are needed.

Unit: 6 HLT - Cardiac Tele Post-Intervention Unit
# beds: 18 Beds
Ratios: NP Ratio 3:1
Nurse Aides: Yes - 2 if full at 18 patients
Charge Nurse: Yes - Takes patients if the needs of the unit require this
Tele: Yes - Nurses required to interpret tele
Vents: BiPAP
IV Team: SWAT RN available for difficult IV sticks
RT 24/7: Yes
Pharmacy 24/7: Yes
Floating: Yes - To other Tele/MedSurg units as needed
Common diagnosis / Types of patients: All post cath lab/interventional procedure patients, CP, ACS (Acute Coronary Syndrome), & CHF. They do pull sheaths but travelers do not need to.

Candidate is required to pass DYS exam PRIOR to accepting
SIMs Lab is pass/fail & nurses have been termed during SIMs Lab for breaking sterile field
Hospital expects every nurse to be competent in maintaining sterile field

Education on lifts, restraints, & wound care are provided since equipment & policies can differ
