Job Summary: The Healthcare Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for monitoring, evaluating, and improving the quality of fire protection services in the healthcare setting. This individual will demonstrate a commitment to improving healthcare outcomes through fire, life and safety by ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborating with healthcare teams to enhance overall patient safety and service effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor healthcare specific fire protection processes and quality indicators to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, such as The Joint Commission, DNV, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), or other accrediting bodies.
  • Collect, track, and analyze data related to quality measures.
  • Perform audits and data analyses to assess service quality and identify areas for improvement.
  • Work closely with multi-functional teams to address quality concerns.
  • Promote continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Oversee the development and improvement of QA processes, procedures, and tools Assist in the design and execution of corrective action plans in response to audit findings and quality issues.
  • Recommend and implement process adjustments to reduce defects and improve overall quality.
  • Stay updated on changes to healthcare regulations and standards and implement necessary adjustments within the organization.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation of quality assurance activities, including audits, reports, corrective actions, and staff training.
  • Provide regular reports to senior management on quality metrics, audit results, and the progress of quality improvement initiatives.


Qualifications

What We Are Looking For:
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years' experience in healthcare compliance, ideally with knowledge and exposure to fire protection.
  • NICET certification a plus.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance, in particular The Joint Commission, DNV, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), or other accrediting bodies.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data management skills.
  • Proven project management experience, including the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to influence and motivate a diverse operations team and lead project teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities


Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time
  • Must be able to effectively use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines
  • Must be able to perform some repetitive motions while using a computer
  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to talk or hear. The associate frequently is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms
