Role: Admission Registered Nurse

Taking on the vital role of an Admissions Registered Nurse, your primary responsibility will be to communicate the services and philosophy of VITAS to patients and their families, resulting in the admission of suitable patients.

Your duties could include:
- Participating in various aspects of the admissions process, such as gathering and analysing information, educating patients and families, and filling in necessary forms.
- Assessing potential patients for hospice suitability, including reviewing medical records as needed.
- Securing an agreement for the admission of referred patients and their families who meet the specified admission criteria.
- Analysing data gathered by the LPN to secure admission orders.
- Fostering strong relationships with referral sources to uphold the high standards and responsiveness associated with VITAS. 
- Keeping professionally competent and clinically up-to-date.

You will also need to take initiative with developing effective internal relationships within the admission and patient care teams. Exceptional interpersonal skills are required for educating patients and their families and answering any hospice and palliative care related queries.

Job Requirements:
- An understanding of the principles of the intake, admission, and transition to care process, with the capacity to build your skill set in these areas.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with patients, families, doctors, referral sources and colleagues.
- Knowledge about the clinical signs of diseases and the capacity to gain specialized clinical knowledge in line with VITAS's needs.
- The capability to utilize VITAS's information system and mobile technology platforms.
- The incumbent should have a dependable mode of transportation.

Qualifications:
- Having a valid R.N. license in the operating state.
- Previous work experience in a hospital, doctor’s practice, Long-Term Care or Assisted Living Facility.
- Effective Presentation Skills.
- Sales or Services experience is preferred.

Education:
- A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
