  • A large system in Nebraska/Iowa are looking for ICU RN's.
  • 12 hour shifts, 36 hours guaranteed. 2 years of unit experience.
  • 13 Week contract.

  • Shifts & Scheduling: 0630-1830, 1830-0630 // manager will make schedule based on unit needs
  • Weekend Requirements: Every other
  • Holiday Requirements: Every other or as needed for based on unit needs

  • Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:1-2 ICU, 1:4 PCU
  • Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Adults and Peds >15 years old, Neuro surgery (initiating neuro interventionalist with thrombectomy program) - not required exp., Respiratory failure, ARDS, MODS, sepsis, stroke, cardiogenic shock (impella, balloon pump - not required exp.), renal failure (CRRT) - not required exp., general surgery, psych/OD, GI bleeds, cancer specific surgeries - esophagectomy, internal chemo administration, CVPs, Alines, Swans, EV-1000, ICP monitoring- all can train real time, Zoll -Thermoguard for hypothermia protocol, Bell Mont rapid transfuser
  • Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes
  • Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, antiarrhythmics
  • Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes- will attend RRTs and Codes
  • Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: Yes- 1:18
  • RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot?: Nasal cannula to vents
  • Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: No techs- Draeger heart monitoring with centralized telemetry monitoring. RNs need to be able to read and interpret.
  • Floating Requirements: Will float to all inpatient units, excluding Maternity/NICU
  • Scrub Color/Dress Code: Navy Blue
  • How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 2 shifts
  • Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.
  • RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
