Job Opportunity:

UniFirst is on the lookout for a motivated customer-centric Route Trainee to be part of our dynamic team. The role of a Route Trainee revolves around supporting the Service Department. Tasks involve aiding Route Service Representatives with loading and unloading of trucks, delivery and collection of customer products, vehicular safety maintenance, and covering designated routes as required. 

The selected candidate will drive a company vehicle to various customer stops along the assigned route in the process of covering routes. The job role involves a pack of physical tasks and transitions between indoor and outdoor environments. We are proud to maintain daytime operating hours from Monday through Friday aligning with UniFirst's belief in reserving nights and weekends for personal and family time. 

This position is an excellent fit for those who appreciate variety in their workday and aspire to kick-start a career in Route Service. There could be potential opportunities to transition into a commissioned Route Service Representative position based on satisfactory performance evaluations and requisite tenure.

Job Responsibilities:

- Serving customers professionally utilizing effective communication skills and addressing customer concerns
- Assuring accurate invoice inventories
- Performing inventory audits
- Maintaining route vehicle reports, safety inspections and general appearance
- Assisting Route Service Manager with daily account collections and getting involved in Account Receivable collections 

Qualifications:

The applicant must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license and dependable transportation. Also, they must accomplish pre-employment DOT physical requirements and be physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds. Communication abilities, basic computer proficiency, and past customer service, route sales, delivery or entrepreneurial experience are all preferred.
