Your Role:
As a Direct Support Professional, your main duty will be to foster the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities. This involves safeguarding their health and well-being and acting as an advocate for our clients.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and execute clients' daily routines as outlined in the Individual Program Plan.
- Contribute to the development of IPP/ISP goals, aligning with each resident's needs and ambitions.
- Maintain a hygienic, safe, and conducive environment for clients.
- Facilitate and encourage socialization among clients by accompanying them to family visits, recreational activities, and more.
- Provide personal care assistance to clients including grooming, toileting, and changing clothing as needed.
- Prepare daily meals and help with cleanup.
- As required, pick up/drop off clients from/to their home/facility using company vans.
- Report any issues or incidents and maintain daily communication with administrators.
- Perform other assigned tasks.
Educational and Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 1-year professional or personal experience in caregiving, preferably for individuals with developmental disabilities or mental illnesses
- Direct Support Professional Certificates for Year 1 & Year 2, and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certificate (preferred or willing to be obtained within the first 6 months of employment)
- First Aid/CPR certification (preferred or willing to be acquired within 30 days of employment)
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Valid Driver’s License
- All candidates must clear all pre-employment requisites, including a background check.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
