Centra Healthcare Solutions is seeking an experienced Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) that is licensed or in the immediate process, and qualifies, of obtaining Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) licensure in the state of NY to work in the specialty area of School.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assesses, diagnoses, screens, language, speech, and swallowing disorders; interprets assessment findings to student and family
  • Develops, implements, amends and plans treatment programs that address communication, AAC, oral motor and feeding needs of students based on the individual needs
  • Conducts intensive group and individual speech, language and feeding therapy sessions. Implements plans appropriately, establishes/maintains accepting climate for expression of feelings, uses creativity and flexibility in session/task design
  • Communicates and collaborates with the student, and liaising with their family members, medical professional, therapists and teachers to design effective treatment plans.
  • Documents progress on daily session notes, quarterly progress notes, and yearly evaluations and updating of IEPs
  • Demonstrates continued proficiency in skills required to treat assigned patient population
  • Other duties assigned"

Minimum Requirements include:

· Masters Degree from an accredited university in Speech Language Pathology

· Current NYSED registration as a Speech/Language Pathologist required.

· ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competency

· Experience and knowledge in the areas of AAC, assistive technology, oral-motor and feeding/swallowing

· Excellent interpersonal skills and collaboration on a team

· Experience working with student with complex physical and needs
