Job Description:

Exciting Opportunity at MSK

We are seeking a senior level Analyst to join the Business Insights team. This is an exciting opportunity to join our digital, informatics and technology organization and work on high-priority platforms supported by Health Informatics. Health Informatics focuses on the interaction of people, processes, and technology enabling MSK to meet critical patient care and research objectives. In particular, the Strategic Evaluation and Applied Research (SEAR) group within Health Informatics provides vision and direction for the creation of such data assets as data marts and Tableau reporting dashboards that support clinical and translational research at MSK and enable evaluations of key MSK strategic initiatives. 

Role Overview:

  • Create data analytic assets, for example, data marts and Tableau dashboards, to support predictive modeling, other research goals, an understanding of the efficiency and effectiveness of MSK’s operational processes, and evaluations of MSK’s strategic initiatives.
  • Work with MSK business users to understand their business processes; gather and document requirements; translate requirements into functional specifications for dashboards and reports.
  • Design and optimize multidimensional data models to support efficient reporting.
  • Identify project risks and impediments; advise management; proactively work with other members of the team to complete tasks as defined by project scope and timelines.
  • Assist in the development of data governance processes which entails documentation and implementation of data quality policies, procedures and standards to ensure a high level of data integrity.
  • Create ad-hoc queries and reports.
  • Develop test plans to assure the functionality and integrity of reporting solutions.
  • Provide leadership and technical guidance to identify system deficiencies, analyze problems and solutions to conclude and implement corrective action.

Key Qualifications:

  • 5+ years demonstrated ability developing reporting solutions against relational and dimensional underlying data in a multi-platform environment.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL programming, deep knowledge of relational database design principles, and Tableau / data visualization & BI tools
  • Experience with DB2, R & Python programming a plus
  • Experience with Databricks and DBT a plus.
  • Exposure to SAFe or agile methodologies a bonus
