Job Description:

Anesthesia Technician | Main OR | New York, NY

Exciting Opportunity at MSK: Our Anesthesiology Department is looking for an Anesthesia Technician I to join their team. You will assist the clinical anesthesia staff with clinical and technical functions by assuring proper supplies are available, that all equipment is functioning properly, and all reusable equipment is properly cleaned and/or sterilized.

Role Overview:

  • Performs routine maintenance and makes minor repairs on all pediatric and adult anesthesia equipment
  • Performs proper departmental cleaning procedure for each type of equipment before bringing to CPD for sterilization
  • Ensures that Anesthesia Department has an adequate stock of disposable supplies available to meet caseload needs
  • Prepares room in accordance with physician’s preferences for each procedure and assists in the room turnover in the prescribed time-frames.
  • Anticipates and prepares supply and equipment needs of the physician for immediate use and throughout the course of routine procedures.
  • Checks for proper processing of instruments and accessories, e.g. checks for expiration and processing dates, checks for integrity of packages, proper method of processing and validity of process indicators before patient use.

Key Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Prior experience working in a healthcare or clinical environment
  • Understanding of disinfection and sterilization techniques

Core Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and an ability to maintain organization when managing clinical inventory
  • Ability to think critically and respond quickly to requests for materials or service

Additional Information:

  • Location: 1275 York Avenue, New York, NY
  • Number of Openings: 2
  • Shifts: 2pm - 10pm OR 3pm - 11pm; Monday through Friday, possible weekend rotation

Pay Range: $25.65-$38.42
