A hospital in Southern Idaho is in need of an RN with 3+ years of experience with Women's Services (L&D and PP) for a 13 week travel assignment.
The nurses will be working 12 hour shifts.
Ideal candidates must have 3+ years experience with L&D, Post-Partum, and OR Circulation / Triage.
Job Requirements
Must have 3 years of L&D experience.
Must have mother baby experience- prefer 1 year.
Okay with a first time traveler.
Must have experience and be able to attend deliveries and complete 1 hour of newborn care, triage, Circulate C/S, and provide Postpartum Couplet Care.
Must have experience with magnesium.
Charge nurse experience preferred.
RNs required to titrate drips.
Experience with Pitocin Protocol, Magnesium Protocol, Insulin drips.
Schedule Information
Shifts & Scheduling: 7-7, Resource and Charge 0645-1845, 1845-0645.
First schedule travelers will fill in the holes, the next schedule travelers can give preference.
Do NOT guarantee Block Scheduling - cannot work 6 shifts in a row.
No minimum weekend requirement.
No set requirement for travel RNs on holidays.
No Call Required.
Unit Specific Information
# of LDRP Beds: 14 LDRP- patients stay in the same room.
# of OR Suites on the unit for C-Sections: 2 suites- RNs will circulate and recover.
# of Triage beds: 4 - travelers will staff.
# of Births per day? Month? Year?: 90/month, 1200/year.
Follow AWHONN Staffing Standards. 1:1 labor unless pairing 2 cervical ripening patients. Postpartum is 1:3 couplets care. Triage 1:3, if get up to 4pts will utilize Resource nurse.
Common diagnoses/Types of patients: 32 week gestation and greater, HTN-getting mag, BACs, TOLACs, some gestational diabetes.
Charge RNs do not take an assignment.
Have a resource RN and triage RN - 'baby catcher'.
RN aids/surgical techs on the unit.
OB/Neonatologist in house 24/7.
Anesthesia in house 24/7.
RT Equipment: RT available for troubleshooting.
Tele/Monitor Techs: Do not have tele techs, have tele capability on the unit.
EFM System: Centricity.
Floating Requirements: Float to all St. Lukes Treasure Valley Sites-Meridian, Nampa, Boise in primary skill set or as a sitter.
Scrub Color/Dress code: Hospital issued scrubs.
Additional Details
Travelers extend and come back.
No fingernail lacquer policy - do not allow acrylic or gel nails in the dept.
Travel duos will need 2 cars, cannot do 1 car as they could be at different sites or float during shift.
Scrubs could be different at different sites - this site is the only LDRP site.
