Role and Responsibilities:

Our Auto Body Technicians are responsible for carrying out the complete disassembly of vehicles, assisting Collision Estimators in damage assessment to formulate a comprehensive repair plan. The aim is to identify all requisite repairs to minimize repair time and avoid further work.

Task breakdown:

- Following the work order for all listed operations
- Removing upholstery, electrical systems, hydraulic windows and others to gain access to the vehicle's damaged areas, and ensuring their safe storage
- Repairing the damaged body by hammering, filling in dents, welding broken parts, maintaining industrial standards, removing damaged panels, and reassembling post-painting
- Proficient use of various hand-held and electric tools
- Filing, grinding, and sanding repaired areas before handing the vehicle over to the Paint Department
- Repairing or replacing defective items
- Testing drive repaired vehicles for safety and quality standards
- Ensuring SOP, safety rules, and guidelines laid out by Classic Collision are adhered to

Qualifications

Applicants should be at least 18 years old with I-CAR / ASE certifications preferred and a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in collision repair. A valid driver’s license is required, as well as a customer-oriented approach and a knack for teamwork. Knowledge to understand written guidelines and instructions is necessary. A clear background check is mandatory for successful selection.

Physical & Environmental Requirements:

An employee performing this role is expected to use their hands frequently, talk, hear, stand or sit for long durations, lift and move up to 20 pounds, and may occasionally need to reach and move objects with hands and arms. Close vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus and to assess the accuracy of assigned work are also necessary. The physical parameters are an indicative representation of what an employee needs to perform the essential functions of this job.
