Key Responsibilities Include:

- Encourage customer relationships in a team-oriented sales model.
- Manage delivery schedules as per the routing plan outlined by the transportation department and troubleshoot any issues that may occur during the ordering process.
- Collaborate with the credit department and clients to manage and collect accounts receivable as necessary.
- Strategically tap into resources to assist with top penetration opportunities and new account openings.
- Identify potential customers through market intelligence databases, business directories, existing client referrals, participation in organizations/clubs, and attendance at trade shows and conferences.
- Stay updated on market conditions, product innovations, competition's products, prices, and sales and share this knowledge with customers as part of added services.

The role requires being in the field visiting customers, and hence the position often involves working outside the office environment. It might also require motor vehicle driving for reaching out to customers, which might involve lifting/carrying items up to 75lbs.

Supervision:

There are no direct reports.

Internal Relationships:

Coordinate with District Sales Manager, Regional Sales Manager, VP of Local Sales, Accounting/Credit Department, Merchandising and Marketing, Operations, and Customer Contact sections.

External Relationships:

Interact with Customers, vendors and potential customers.

Minimum Requirements:

- At least one year of sales experience would be preferred.
- Prior experience in the foodservice industry or hospitality sector.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Proclivity for building relationships and performing cold calls.
- Excellent customer service abilities and interpersonal skills.
- A competitive spirit with a focus on results.
- Proficiency in problem-solving, organization, and negotiation.
- Ability to work in a team and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Experience using Customer Relationship Management tools (Incl. Salesforce) will be preferred.
- HS Diploma or equivalent is necessary.
- Valid state-issued driver’s license is necessary & the motor vehicle record must be in good standing.
