CarbonCapture Inc. is seeking a Senior Director, Product Engineering with a minimum of 15 years of experience in product development and team leadership. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design, with a proven track record in developing products that are simple, cost-effective, and scalable for mass production. This role requires someone who has successfully led mechanical, electrical, and control teams, and has extensive experience in product certification, reliability, and maintainability. Experience with value engineering and first-of-a-kind product development is essential.

Responsibilities

The Senior Director, Product Engineering will lead and mentor mechanical, electrical, and control engineering teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. This role involves managing and coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure project alignment and integration, overseeing the entire product development lifecycle from concept to production, and driving the design and development of mechanical systems with a focus on manufacturability, simplicity, and cost-effectiveness. Additionally, this person will implement best practices in engineering design and development processes, drive continuous improvement and rapid technology iterations, and ensure all products meet necessary certifications and regulatory standards. Strategic planning and decision-making, aligning engineering objectives with company goals and market demands, and effective stakeholder engagement are also critical components of this role.

Requirements

  • 15+ years in engineering with significant experience in mechanical design and product development.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • Experience with value engineering to optimize products for cost, performance, and manufacturability.
  • Proven track record in leading engineering teams and managing first-of-a-kind product development within startup environments.
  • Strong expertise in mechanical design, including experience with CAD software and engineering analysis tools.
  • Deep understanding of product certification, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective leadership and team-building abilities.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
