Assistant Store Manager - New Graduate

We're excited to groom the future executives of Sprouts Farmers Market, a leading retailer featured in the Fortune 500. In our Sprouts University Program, outstanding individuals receive the necessary training to excel and advance in the retail industry. Our Assistant Store Managers (ASMs) are entrusted with the task of ensuring efficient and profitable running of the store, taking full responsibility for all operational aspects in the absence of the Store Manager.

Scheduled for January 2025 and June 2025

Candidates should be near to completion (within a year) of a full-time bachelor's or master's degree program.

For the January class: December 2023 - December 2024

For the June class: June 2024 - June 2025

In the initial 12 weeks, get hands-on experience in various in-store departments, followed by an additional 12 weeks of job shadowing. Please note, we are unable to sponsor visas for this role.

The Assistant Store Manager (ASM) must be thoroughly acquainted with all store-related activities and operations. ASM aids the Store Manager in keeping the store clean, safe, and well-stocked. ASMs also monitor labor to ensure it aligns with the store's sales, productivity guidelines and wage budgets while devising action plans for cost control. Leadership skills are key in this role to train the team, reduce turnover, and control labor costs. Also, ASMs will handle communication with other departments and the Store Manager to implement effective merchandising plans that meet the store's financial objectives. 

Eligible candidates for the SUP Assistant Store Manager role at Sprouts Farmers Market should:

- Be pursuing or have obtained a Bachelor's Degree (graduation targeted between December 2023 and June 2025)

- Have retail experience or substantial exposure to the retail industry

- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills and exhibit a team-oriented approach

- Have a positive attitude and ability to engage with our customers effectively

- Be reliable, able to work a flexible schedule that changes as per the business necessities

- Have the ability to oversee department staff, including hiring, training, appraisals, scheduling, and termination

- Have the ability to effectively multitask and prioritize

- Have strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

- Possess food safety certification and ensure compliance with all OSHA requirements and other relevant regulations

- Be capable of lifting moderately heavy loads, up to 75 lbs, and standing for extended periods
