G3 Boats/Yamaha in Lebanon, MO is looking to hire a manufacturing leader with a passion for boating and/or outdoor lifestyle. We're looking for a Production Manager to drive innovation and excellence in manufacturing and assembly processes, lead a talented team, and champion continuous improvement.

The Production Manager (PM) is responsible for G3 Boats’ overall manufacturing and assembly processes. A key function will be focusing on day-to-day production in terms of setting and meeting goals, upholding quality standards, problem solving, and always looking for ways to improve. Further, working with key members of the manufacturing and operations leadership teams, the PM monitors and evaluates workflow and assembly methods and drives process improvements. This role also oversees staffing, and training for production, as well as prepares and/or audits production, staffing, and budgetary reports.

 

Essential Job Functions: (responsibilities, duties, and standards of the position, including supervisory level and reporting relationship)

  • Champion all aspects of safety in manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Oversee manufacturing operations while empowering and leading the production team in achieving on-time, high-quality products.
  • Responsible for the overall well-being of the production floor, which will require critical thinking in analyzing situations and making decisions geared toward the company’s best interest.
  • Responsible for leading continuous improvement initiatives related to production processes.
  • Establish production goals and metrics in coordination with strategic company directives leading to business growth and effectiveness.
  • Partner with Product and Manufacturing Engineering early in the development stage to build quality into the product designs and manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Engineering Departments to collect and analyze production data to develop long term production and quality plans.
  • Formulate and implement production performance objectives aligned to meet organizational plans.
  • Communicate and collaborate cross-functionally with both G3 and other Yamaha Marine Business Units to solve common production opportunities.
  • Develop and execute budgets, staffing plans, hiring plans, site facility recommendations and associated re-engineering activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement activities through root cause analysis and preventive actions that ensure quality/production issues are not repeated.
  • Works closely with Human Resources to ensure that all personnel actions such as recruitments, transfers, promotions, performance reviews and disciplinary actions are following company rules.

 

Qualifications and Skills: (in terms of experience, education & training)

  • At least twelve years' work experience in a combination of manufacturing, production, manufacturing engineering, quality product integrity, and material management.
  • At least four (4) of the twelve years should include managing one or more of these functions.
  • Experience/knowledge in the marine manufacturing industry is a plus.
  • A strong record of accomplishment of successfully leading people and teams.
  • Strong record of accomplishment of meeting or exceeding production goals in previous positions, with use of Forecasting, Production Planning and implementing Process Improvement measures.
  • Demonstrated ability to acquire and utilize technical skills to penetrate issues and solve them to root cause.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Techniques, Kata, Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA), conflict resolution.
  • Ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels; team building and the ability to communicate priorities efficiently and effectively.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and OSHA 14001 requirements and procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Must be able to effectively communicate and present information to employees and upper management.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office products.
