Description:

Responsibilities

Basic Purpose
Oversees day-to-day security operations that have a significant impact on corporate, business unit, and organizational objectives. Implements and supports company programs and policies. Performs supervisory activities and planning; provides guidance and counsel to senior management and client organizations company wide. Manages company-wide physical security activities, security investigations, and security incident response activities. Oversees the creation of reporting and intelligence products based on analysis by physical security operators and manages physical security projects and initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Management
  • Manages personnel and the day-to-day operation of the security department and associated programs across the enterprise. Conducts team employee performance reviews. Provides guidance to internal and contract security personnel and manage the use of external contractors to provide services in support of securing company facilities and assets.
  • Manages tactical emergency response to physical security incidents.
Operations
  • Develops necessary policies, procedures, and methodologies to support and maintain security operations. Manages projects effectively; ensures delivery of program commitments. Manages timeline of goals and completion status and updates management on project status.
  • Coordinates and conducts facility security inspections. Creates clear, effective, and proactive plans for avoiding or mitigating newly emerged or evolving threats.
Compliance
  • Analyzes and designs procedures to demonstrate and annually certify compliance with regulatory requirements. Verifies compliance for current and emerging security regulations that are of a complex nature. Ensures the company is not subject to fines or sanctions.
Liaison
  • Represents the department through participation in internal, BHE, and external collaborative groups, information sharing alliances, conferences, and other activities.
  • Serves as a point of contact with federal, state, and local intelligence and law enforcement agencies, and other security organizations. Collaborates with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to raise awareness of critical company assets and protective measures. Assists local, state, and federal law enforcement to mitigate and resolve security threats.
  • Develops and presents training products to different business groups throughout NV Energy. Creates and briefs dynamic intelligence products to entities both in and outside the company.
Monitors and enforces all compliance requirements for area of responsibility.
Ensures all compliance aspects of position are known and followed; understands and complies with all policies, codes and regulations applicable to position and company.
Performs related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Essential Education, Skills, and Environment
Education and Work Experience
Bachelor’s degree in law enforcement or related field and a minimum of six years of experience in a direct or indirect supervisory, management, or other leadership role.
Candidates that do not possess a bachelor’s degree must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in a direct or indirect supervisory, management, or other leadership role.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills
Demonstrated knowledge of:
  • Advanced concepts and practices in security such as threat assessments and physical security planning.
  • Documented experience in participation or preparation of regulatory audits
  • Regulatory and government requirements that impact physical security.
Demonstrated skills such as:
  • Ability to prepare and present effective training programs to a diverse audience.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills involving the ability to establish trust, maintain confidence, and understand social behavior and interactions.
  • Ability to work with all organizational levels to influence actions and negotiate outcomes.
Equipment and Applications
PCs, word processing, spreadsheet and database software.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
General office environment. No special physical demands required.

Compensation

Annual Salary: $115,900 (Min) to $136,300 (Mid); Up to 15% Short Term Incentive Plan target opportunity at the discretion of the company. This is a non-represented position.
