5 South Oncology; Inpatient unit. 32 private beds. Our ratios vary depending on patient population. Regular Med-Surg patients are 1:5-6. Oncology patients not receiving treatment 1:5, Hem/Onc (AML, ALL and such) 1:3-4. Patients receiving chemo 1:3, BMT (Bone Marrow Transplant) patients depending on the condition and where in transplant process they are 1:1-3. There is also a PCT on the unit assigned to those patients. Nurses are cross trained to BMT. Our program is part of GlobalCenter Institute, Sarah Cannon, thatconducts over 1200 transplants per year across 8 locations. Our unit and clinic cares exclusively for Blood Cancer and Bone Marrow Transplant patients and has conducted over a dozen transplants since our inception last summer. We are growing at rapid pace! This is an incredible opportunity for you to be a part of a program that provides this treatment to patients local to Las Vegas/Nevada -- so these patients no longer need to travel outside of the state to receive treatment!
Shift: Full Time Nights; 7p-7a, 36 hours per week
The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) ensures and delivers high quality, patient-centered care and coordination of all functions in the unit/department during the designated shift. In collaboration with other members of the management team, the CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures, serves as a resource person for staff, and models a commitment to the organization’s vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.
