Job Details
Effective 11/30/24, IU Health will not allow IN RN’s to work at their facilities (SEE EXCEPTIONS BELOW).
The last day for IN RNs to start a NEW contract is 9/9 (allows them to finish a contract by 11/30).
Periop/OR RN’s, Allied and Ambulatory RN travelers are exempt from this rule.
These IN travelers are allowed to work past the 11/30 deadline. Periop includes ENDO, IR RN, PACU, Cath Lab RN, SDS.
IU Health is now offering charge pay, which is a $3.00 bill rate bump per hour.
IU Health University and Methodist are teaching facilities and require all travel nurses to agree to the possibility of precepting and/or being assigned students to shadow them while on assignment.
First Time Travelers Accepted.
MUST BE FLEXIBLE WITH WEEKEND REQUIREMENTS, WEEKEND REQUIREMENT WILL BE BASED ON UNIT NEEDS.
TRAVELERS MUST BE ABLE TO WORK 50% OF THE WEEKENDS IN THEIR CONTRACT.
Staffing Ratios: 1:4.
Unit Information: IU Methodist’s A5East is a progressive care unit that focuses on the close monitoring of patients with cardiovascular diagnoses.
Job Requirements
2 years of nursing experience required.
Schedule Information
Shift Requirements: 4x12 or 3x12.
Call-Ins: If a traveler call-ins for a contracted shift, the traveler is expected to make up the day during the pay period, if a 0.9 FTE.
If a 0.9 FTE and unable to make up during the pay period, then the shift will be added at the end of the traveler contract.
If a 1.2 FTE, any call-in shifts will be added to the end of the contract.
Charge coverage: Pending operational needs, unit charge nurse responsibilities may be needed with provided training and resources.
Unit Specific Information
Floating Requirements: Unit travelers may be expected to float to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) with resources provided if needed at both University and Methodist Hospitals.

AHA ONLY. RQI is acceptable.
